Limyaael's Fantasy Rants - A list of rants about the fantasy genre. Very informative and funny, though there is swearing. I believe that everyone wanting to write and publish a fantasy story should be required by law to read through all the rants that would apply to their story, and even some of the ones that don't. As with everything, take it with a grain of salt.
Impish Idea - A blog about writing, with humorous articles and analyses of stories like Twilight and Inheritance.
The Young Writers Society - A large and active forum for posting stories, getting feedback, and sharing tips. Despite its name, everyone is welcome. Just bear in mind that it will be mostly teenagers reading your stuff.
The Fantasy Cliché Meter: The Good Guys and The Bad Guys - Two quizzes, similar to Mary Sue Litmus Tests, that test the cliché-ness of fantasy heroes and villains. Note that these tests suffer from some of the same problems as Mary Sue tests, so don't ditch a character because he gets a high score, or think that one is "good" because he gets a low score.
FaceMaker - A site where you can mix and match parts to make a face. Good for creating images of your characters.
The Frozen Website - A website with informative articles about writing. However, the language there is harsh and nonstop, and some of the views on writing are controversial. Tread carefully.
The Oatmeal - A hilarious collection of comics and quizzes.
International Wolf Center - The world authority on wolves. A must-visit site for anyone interested in writing about wolves. If you can go, a visit to their center in Ely, Minnesota, would be a wonderful research opportunity.
The Bookshelf Muse - A blog on writing with excellent resources on symbolism, settings, description, and showing emotion.
How to Write Badly Well - An excellent and funny guide on writing crap. Is also good for learning what not to do if you want to write not-crap.
Slush Pile Hell - A funny collection of... interesting bits of query letters.
Superhero Nation - A website on writing, mainly focused on superhero stories and comic books, but useful for any writer.
Stupid Plot Tricks - Contains the famous Evil Overlord List and much more!
Living the Aspie Life - A blog about living with Asperger's Syndrome.
